Optimise workflows. Reduce friction. Maximise technology impact.

Digital Taskflow Optimisation is designed to ensure that new or existing technology delivers measurable, operational value. Too often, software is implemented based on assumed workflows rather than observed behaviour. Systems may be technically sound, yet misaligned with how work actually happens on the ground. The result is inefficiency, workarounds, duplication of effort, resistance from users, and costly rework.

This expert-led sprint begins by immersing ourselves in the real operating environment. Through contextual observation, stakeholder interviews, and workflow walkthroughs, we map how tasks are performed across teams, systems, and touchpoints. We identify friction points, cognitive overload, bottlenecks, manual interventions, and hidden dependencies that may not be visible at management level but significantly impact productivity and adoption.

Rather than focusing solely on interface improvements, we examine the broader ecosystem: decision flows, data handoffs, approval stages, exception handling, and system integrations. This structured analysis allows us to distinguish between surface usability issues and deeper structural inefficiencies.

From this foundation, we redesign workflows to align user needs with business objectives. The goal is not cosmetic refinement but practical optimisation — reducing unnecessary steps, clarifying roles and responsibilities, improving information hierarchy, and ensuring that digital systems support rather than obstruct operational performance.

Outputs include documented current-state task flows, prioritised optimisation opportunities, quick-win improvements, and strategic recommendations for system evolution. Where appropriate, we prototype refined pathways to validate improvements before development investment.

The result is a clearer, more efficient digital workflow architecture that reduces risk, improves adoption, and maximises the return on technology investment. Instead of asking users to adapt to systems, we ensure systems are designed to support the way people actually work — enabling measurable gains in efficiency, clarity, and output.

Henry Poskitt is a design and innovation leader and Director at Frontend.com, a Dublin-based consultancy specialising in human-centred design, product development, and digital transformation. He works with organisations to translate complex business and technology challenges into clear, practical solutions that deliver measurable value. With a strong background in strategic design and product innovation, Henry helps companies navigate change — whether developing new products, modernising digital platforms, or transforming operational systems. His work spans multiple sectors including healthcare, MedTech, manufacturing, enterprise technology, and advanced engineering, where usability, safety, and performance are critical.

Henry leads multidisciplinary teams delivering research-driven design programmes that align user needs with commercial and technical goals. He is particularly focused on bridging the gap between strategy and execution — ensuring that insight is translated into implementable solutions, not just concepts. His work often involves product strategy, service design, user experience architecture, and the development of scalable design frameworks that support long-term growth. He has extensive experience working with global organisations, guiding innovation initiatives from early problem definition through to design delivery and validation. This includes facilitating workshops, shaping product roadmaps, and helping leadership teams make confident decisions about where and how to invest in innovation.

Henry is known for his pragmatic, structured approach to design — combining analytical thinking with creative problem solving. His focus is always on delivering solutions that work in the real world: operationally effective, technically robust, and meaningful for the people who use them.

    David Delahunty

David is a design and innovation professional working with Frontend.com, a Dublin-based consultancy specialising in human-centred design, product development, and digital transformation. He plays a key role in delivering research-driven design programmes that help organisations develop effective products, services, and operational systems grounded in real user needs.

David works across the full innovation lifecycle — from early discovery and problem definition through to design development, prototyping, and validation. His work focuses on understanding how people interact with technology and processes in real world environments, and translating those insights into practical solutions that improve usability, efficiency, and performance. He has experience supporting projects across healthcare, MedTech, enterprise systems, and industrial environments, where complex workflows, specialist users, and high stakes decision-making demand thoughtful, evidence-based design. Through user research, task analysis, and collaborative workshops, David helps teams identify friction points, uncover unmet needs, and define opportunities for meaningful improvement. David contributes to multidisciplinary teams working closely with engineers, product managers, and organisational stakeholders to ensure that design solutions are not only intuitive for users but also feasible to implement and aligned with business goals. His work often involves interaction design, workflow optimisation, usability evaluation, and the development of structured design frameworks that support scalable and consistent product experiences.

He is known for his analytical approach, attention to detail, and commitment to translating user insight into clear, actionable design outcomes — helping organisations deliver solutions that perform effectively in practice, not just in theory.

    Frank Long
