Master the fundamentals of 3D CAD design for Digital Fabrication
Being able to create a 3D model of your idea is the most common barrier between concept and prototype. In this hands-on course, we introduce users to 3D CAD using Fusion 360, though the lessons can be universally applied to any parametric CAD software.
We will show you the tools and techniques to bring your ideas from pen and paper to a digital specification that can then be used in a whole host of digital manufacturing tools, from 3D printing to laser cutting and CNC routing.
In our experience, a key mistake when learning CAD is spending too much time learning niche tools you will not use day to day. We take an 80:20 view with this course, providing you with the core 20% of Fusion's functionality that gives you the ability to create 80% of the forms you need. This means we focus on solid modelling tools and a workflow centred on the core sketch-based workflow.
