About the Event
Exploring the challenges and opportunities in scaling of digital HealthTech in Ireland.
This event brings together key stakeholders from Ireland’s digital HealthTech ecosystem to explore the opportunities and challenges in scaling and shaping the future of HealthTech innovation.
The Irish based European Digital Innovation Hubs, (ENTIRE, CeADAR, Data2Sustain and FactoryXChange 2.0), in collaboration with Enterprise Europe Network and Ibec will explore the strategic direction and support levers for Irish SMEs to develop, scale and commercialise innovative digital HealthTech solutions.
Critical challenges, such as integration of AI tools, regulatory compliance, cyber resilience and financial supports will be discussed by expert speakers and panel discussions.
What You Will Gain
Access Ireland's EDIH Ecosystem in One Room: Connect directly with ENTIRE, CeADAR, Data2Sustain, and FactoryXChange 2.0 — the four EDIHs co-delivering Ireland's EU-funded digital innovation support for SMEs in health and life sciences.
Navigate EU Regulatory Compliance with Confidence: Gain expert guidance on the EU regulatory landscape for digital health products, including AI Act implications and MDR considerations for MedTech innovators.
Explore AI as a Practical Business Enabler: Hear from Prof Barry O'Sullivan (UCC) on how AI is driving next-generation digital HealthTech products and services — with real SME case studies to bring it to life.
Build Cyber Resilience Into Your HealthTech Strategy: Understand the cyber security requirements specific to digital health infrastructure, delivered by Glenda Deveney, MTU.
Unlock Financial Supports and Funding Pathways: Receive a comprehensive overview of ecosystem supports and financial instruments available to Irish HealthTech SMEs, including EU funding mechanisms via Enterprise Europe Network.
One-to-One Advisory Meetings: Avail of optional dedicated 1:1 sessions with service providers, EDIH representatives, and agency staff to explore your specific scaling needs.
What to Expect
Across two structured sessions, attendees will hear from senior figures across government, industry, and academia — including Dr Fiona O'Sullivan from the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE), Kieran Daly of HealthBeacon and the IBEC Digital Health Working Group, and Laura Clifford, EDIH Programme Manager at Enterprise Ireland. These perspectives collectively frame the national and European strategic context within which Irish HealthTech companies must position themselves to grow.
The second session moves from strategy to application. It explores the tangible technologies and frameworks that are reshaping digital health delivery — from AI-enabled diagnostics and care pathways to cyber-secure health data systems. A live SME case study will demonstrate what scaling digital healthtech in Ireland looks like in practice, providing delegates with a concrete, replicable model. The programme concludes with a facilitated networking lunch, giving delegates unstructured time to build relationships with peers, service providers, and potential collaborators.
For those seeking deeper engagement, optional one-to-one meetings (14:30–15:30) provide a private, focused environment to discuss specific challenges, opportunities, or partnership possibilities with EDIH advisors and agency representatives.
