The service supports an innovative company or organisation in developing a proof-of-concept (PoC) for a new or improved product, process, or technical service. The technology service is aimed at collaborative innovation development where the scope of work has been well-established through initial investigation, a scoping project, support to find investment services, industry case-study analysis and/or a research or technology definition. The research work will support business transformation through the application of Advanced Digital Technologies, such as; artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and high performance computing, thus ensuring the wider use of digital technologies across the economy and society. The research work may also address relevant aspects of ‘Green Transformation’ and the adoption of sustainable and human-centric approaches in enterprise. The service will include evaluation of added-value and improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs) likely to be realised by the partner organisation, for example in terms of; efficiency/cost saving, new products, new customers, competitive advantage, etc. The advancement of innovation in digital tools, cyber-physical systems, IoT and PLC/SCADA systems provides easier access to all types of industrial data. The integration of this data with edge computing and cloud analytics has been shown to provide valuable insights and decision-making opportunities.
