FxC Reference Number: EIMR30241 About: Secondary school students will learn about advanced manufacturing and Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) through a curriculum designed specifically for young adults in Transition Year (TY) while engaged in the 'Ideas Made Real' 3D Printing Challenge. The programme has been designed by Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR) with educators to enhance the TY experience while adding valuable resources to the classroom for the students, teachers and the wider school community. What to expect: The service consists of 7 elements which aims to encourage young people to consider careers and interests into the world of Advanced Manufacturing and STEAM: • Introductory event to engage manufacturing industry and secondary schools; • Secondary school teacher training to support educators on the programme; • Two student workshops: Discover Workshop and Delivery Workshop • One company visit for the students and teachers; • One Skills Development Day to take place outside of the classroom; & • One 'Ideas Made Real' 3D Printing Challenge competition day.
